Developer Deep Worlds SA took the spotlight during the recent New Game+ Showcase to unveil a new multiplayer extraction shooter titled Beautiful Light. The game will feature tactical first-person gameplay where each match involves six squads of 3 operators each. Players are tasked with entering, securing, and extracting an artifact in hostile environments. Check out the trailer below.
The main gameplay area in Beautiful Light is referred to as the “intervention area”, and players will have to use all their wits to figure out the location of the mysterious artifact. Much like other extraction shooters, this one will also feature quests that players can take on to get their hands on more equipment. The main obstacles that players will have to deal with not only involve teams of other operators, but also monstrous anomalies. Each mission—dubbed a raid—is set to be a unique experience.
One of the big twists in Beautiful Light is that players can also take on the role of an Anomaly, tasked with hunting down the teams of operators all over the map. Anomalies are set to have their own progression tracks, and players will have to find and eat other players to get experience in order to improve skills and unlock new abilities. A total of six player-controlled Anomalies will be present in each match.
In a bid to focus on realism, Beautiful Light will focus on immersion quite a bit, and even the HUD is set to be a diegetic one, which means that it will all be in-universe UI elements based on military interface design. The HUD can be accessed through a PDA that operators have equipped on their forearms.
When Beautiful Light comes out in Early Access, it will feature the core game mode, plenty of pieces of tactical equipment to unlock, detailed maps, the ability for players to host and run community-oriented dedicated servers by either renting one out from a service or hosting the server on their own system.
Beautiful Light will be coming to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, and is set for a December 2026 launch. Players interested can also sign up for its playtest.
