Blacklight: Retribution Announced for PlayStation 4 – First Free to Play FPS for Next-Gen Consoles

Zombie Studios' makes some serious inroads with the PS4 adaptation of Retribution.

That Blacklight: Retribution is currently a pretty good free to play PC game is irrelevant. What’s more relevant is that Zombie Studios is bringing the game over to the PlayStation 4. And that free to play aspect is coming right along for the ride.

A new trailer for the game was made available thanks to official PlayStation Blog, although the game doesn’t appear to be running on PS4 hardware. The game will include its usual competitive multiplayer and co-op modes along with the usual sci-fi setting and weapons.

For now, we’re curious about how being the first F2P shooter, forget game, on next generation consoles will affect the market as a whole. How will it affect Crytek’s Warface, which has been jockeying for a console release as well? All burning questions without answers. Regardless, if you need proof that Blacklight: Retribution is worth the time, you can check it out for PC here.
