Multiple big developers and publishers in the games industry have made their desire to introduce NFTs in their games quite clear, with the likes of Ubisoft and Square Enix in particular having spoken about the same multiple times. Of course, those statements have largely been met with widespread backlash from gaming audiences for the most part. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like every major name has similar plans.

Blizzard Entertainment recently sent out surveys inquiring users about their potential interest in NFTs and cryptocurrency being introduced in Activision Blizzard games down the line, leading to speculating that the company might have plans on that front. Recently, however, responding to a VGC report regarding the same on Twitter, Blizzard Entertainment president Mike Ybarra, in pretty clear terms, refuted that speculation, saying, “No one is doing NFTs.”

Others in the industry have also been vocally hesitant about entering the NFT space, including the likes of Valve and Xbox, while some have been less critical, but still don’t seem to have any immediate NFT-related plans, like Sega, EA, and Nintendo. Meanwhile, others still have chosen to walk back on their plans following widespread backlash, such as Team 17 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 developer GSC Game World.
