Bloober Team’s reputation has been growing steadily over the last decade, thanks to its impressive output of horror games, and the studio has often been brought up as a likely candidate for acquisition by one of the big players in the last couple of years. Reports less than a year ago suggested that Bloober Team was in talks with multiple companies regarding a possible acquisition, but it seems the Polish studio has now changed its mind.

The developer has decided not to sell a majority stake to anyone at this time (via Bankier.pl). The reason cited is “high risk of losing its overarching strategic goals”, while Bloober also feels an acquisition at this time would be “inconsistent” with its “organizational culture” and would be an impediment to its growth. It is also mentioned that Bloober will “start talks on strategic cooperation with one of the industry entities”, and that this will be finalized in the second half of 2021- but what that means remains to be seen.

Bloober Team’s CEO Piotr Babieno recently revealed that the developer has been working on another horror game for over a year at this point, and is working on the project in collaboration with “a very famous gaming publisher”. Read more on that through here.
