Gearbox announced today the release date for Borderlands 2’s upcoming playable Psycho, Krieg. On May 14th, players will be able to play as the brand new class that takes on a role of a Psycho for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Gearbox originally announced this downloadable content back at PAX East. Krieg will cost $9.99 on PlayStation 3, and Steam and 800 Microsoft Points on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Krieg is separate from the Borderland 2’s Season Pass.

You can check out Krieg reveal trailer below:

Krieg is a character who soaks up a lot of damage and is primarily made for people who enjoy melee classes. Krieg will have three different skills such as Mania, Hellborn and Bloodlust. Krieg is going to be the sixth playable character in Borderlands 2. The game originally launched with Gunzerker, Assassin, Commando and Siren, and then Mechromancer was released back in October.

Also, Gearbox previously announced a fourth campaign add-on for Borderlands 2, which will be released in late June.
