The gameplay showcase event for Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 3 is currently live, but plenty of footage has already been showcased. Check out the beginning from the one hour, 20 minute mark below, which sees the player running into a familiar face. It doesn’t take long before the mayhem begins though.

Immediately, many of the new gameplay additions are apparent. Players can now slide, traversing faster down cliffs, and cover can be destroyed. Another cool mechanic is being able to melee explosive barrels to push them at foes (ideally to then shoot them and make them explode). Of course, the looting and the shooting that players love is still very much intact and looks much more fluid.

Borderlands 3 is out on September 13th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The PC version is exclusive to the Epic Games Store until April 2020, which is when it will be eligible for sale on Steam. Stay tuned for more details on the title from today’s gameplay showcase.
