Tales From the Borderlands

Remember that Borderlands film that was supposedly meant to happen? Apparently the film adaptation of Gearbox Software’s award-winning FPS franchise has a screenwriter now.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aaron Berg will be writing the script. Berg is known for writing Section 6 and G.I. Joe 3. The project will be produced by Avi and Ari Arad who initially noted that it has “a unique story-driven narrative energy and rich multi-dimensional characters that position it to become a singular motion picture event.”

Sources indicate that the game could have an R rating, which is pretty much a given with all the goings-on in the Borderlands universe.

In the video game sphere, Gearbox Software has been quietly planning Borderlands 3 or whatever it plans to call the next game. Full-fledged development will begin after Battleborn and its DLC have released with Easter eggs to be provided in the MOBA/FPS hybrid. Stay tuned for more updates on both Borderlands 3 and the movie (if it happens in our lifetime).
