Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will receive multiple new details at Call of Duty Next on August 28th. In the meantime, Treyarch has fresh information on Zombies, with development team members outlining Augments, the return of Gobblegums, and more.

Augments are new to the franchise, with players accessing three major and three minor. A major Augment includes three electric orbs that orbit the player and protect them, while a minor Augment causes something like Napalm Burst to deal slightly more damage. There are also new Perks like Melee Machiatto granting a devastating punch melee. Its major Augment improves melee attack speed for all melee weapons.

Armor upgrades in the Arsenal have been replaced with ammo mods, which also upgrade the weapon’s rarity. As for Gobblegums, which make a return, you can set up to five and put them into a pack before a match. Find a gumball machine in-game, and upon interacting with it, you’ll receive one of those Gobblegums.

You can choose when to activate a Gobblegum and enable more than one at a time. Special effects include receiving all the perks at once, firing weapons without using ammo, etc. It’s also possible to save a Zombies-focus weapon build before a match, which includes a weapon’s attachments and blueprints. Buying from the wall or Mystery Box will then provide access to it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 25th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC. There will be new campaign gameplay at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live on August 20th.
