No matter the state of the world, there’s two things you can always rely on: time will always move forward and there will be a new Call of Duty. Next month we’ll see the release of the latest entry, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and you’re going to need a lot of space for that bad boy. The Call of Duty ecosystem has changed with the release of Warzone, a battle royale mode that was both part of the last entry, Modern Warfare, as well as a free to play mode that has proven to be popular. We knew that Cold War and Warzone would be integrated in some way, but we won’t see it until the year’s end.

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick confirmed in the company’s latest earnings call that the integration between the two will not come at Cold War‘s launch, but would instead be in December. He did offer a few details, also confirming that the game would have a Battle Pass option as Modern Warfare did. The new Warzone integration will allow you use your weapons and perks from both Black Ops and current Warzone, but you seemingly will not be able to mix and match those. Progression will remain unified across all modes for both titles (thanks to VG24/7 for transcribing the talk).

There’s a few things that are unclear, particularly about how the engine will work in this integration or if the look of Warzone‘s map will change to be more in-line with Cold War, but Kotick said details would be fleshed out in the coming weeks. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release on November 13th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and PC. Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
