Call of Duty Vanguard

Activision is getting ready to roll out Ricochet, its new anti-cheat software, for Call of Duty: Warzone in next month’s Pacific update. In a new anti-cheat progress report, the team revealed that it was expanding its enforcement process to stop access to account resellers and cheaters. It also confirmed that Ricochet would arrive in Warzone first before coming to Call of Duty: Vanguard at a “later date.”

In the meantime, however, those found cheating in Call of Duty: Vanguard will still face repercussions. Continued violations of the security policy could result in “permanent suspension of all accounts”. Ditto if you try to hide or disguise your identity or your hardware. These suspensions can carry over to all titles in the franchise, be it past or future titles. So yes, cheating in this year’s iteration could potentially block you off from accessing next year’s (and the year after that and so on).

Time will tell if this is enough to deter the amount of cheaters in Call of Duty but Ricochet’s effectiveness will be the real test. Stay tuned for more details when it goes live in December.
