Call of Duty: Ghosts Will Feature “Largest Marketing Plan in Brand History” to Combat Battlefield 4

Call of Duty Ghosts
In a recent investor Q&A, Activision revealed that it will be expending a large amount of resources in order to ensure that the recently announced Call of Duty: Ghosts is able to win out against EA’s Battlefield 4. There were also concerns as to the competition that Disney Infinity could pose to the Skylanders franchise, which is also a significant source of revenue for Activision.

CEO Bobby Kotick stated that Ghosts will be “supported by one the largest marking plans in the brand’s history” along with launching on current and next gen consoles. He also talked about how he expects stiff competition from Battlefield 4.

Given how Battlefield 3 sold well over 20 million units since first releasing and the recently revealed Battlefield 4 was praised for its next generation graphics – even if gameplay wasn’t entirely ground-breaking or new – Activison’s concern is understandable.

Currently, Call of Duty: Ghosts is slated to release on November 5th for Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, PC and Wii U.
