Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Along with the PC requirements and release timings for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward has outlined the various progression systems included at launch. Before Season 1 starts and players engage with the Battle Pass and Seasonal Prestige, they’ll have access to Military Ranks.

This is your standard leveling experience and goes from levels 1-55. New Weapon Platforms, multiplayer loadout items and Special Ops Kits are unlocked with this. Each Weapon Platform has progression trees for unlocking universal and platform-specific attachments and Receivers. You can also complete various Camo and Mastery Challenges.

As for Special Ops Kits, you can level each one up to Rank 10. This is done by replaying Special Ops Missions and completing challenges (which net Stars). You can read more about each kit here.

Finally, to unlock all 18 Operators for multiplayer, you’ll need to complete challenges in the campaign, multiplayer, and Special Ops. Daily Challenges are available in multiplayer and Special Ops for additional XP. Complete three, and you unlock a bonus challenge for triple the XP of a regular challenge. Milestone Challenges are available for specific cosmetic rewards and XP by winning matches in specific modes.

More details on the progression systems will be revealed “within the game’s release window,” so stay tuned. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releases on October 28th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, and PC.
