Zombies is going open world in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, as multiple squads cooperate in a PvE environment to take on the undead. Activision recently released a new trailer showcasing the mode’s various mechanics, and additional details are available courtesy of a new blog post.
Though it’s not round-based like a traditional Zombies experience, fans can still look forward to Pack-A-Lunch, Perk Colas, the Mystery Box, and Wonder Weapons. “New secrets” are also teased along with a “series of rewards and upgrades specific to this mode.” It’s worth noting that thanks to the extraction-based nature of the mode, you can store any weapons for use in future matches, including the Ray Gun.
There are also blueprints to create items like Juggernog to start the match with. While the undead present a grave threat (including the biggest Zombies enemy to date), you’ll also battle against the PMC, Terminus Outcomes. They’re led by Viktor Zakhaev and are responsible for the outbreak seen in the initial cinematic reveal.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 10th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. A multiplayer beta starts this weekend for PlayStation, followed by October 14th to 16th for other platforms, with pre-orders gaining early access.
