Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Seemingly Teased by Infinity Ward as Livestream Depicts a Street in Korea

A reveal for the next game in the Modern Warfare reboot series appears to be imminent ahead of its alleged October launch.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4

With the Xbox Games Showcase taking place on June 7th, Infinity Ward has apparently begun teasing its next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. A new livestream is available on the official Call of Duty channel from the perspective of 카메라 004, which is Korean for “Camera 004.”

The thumbnail showcases a seemingly innocuous street, but upon clicking, you’ll see it’s in ruins. Fires are raging, and the electricity is completely out. What led to this remains unknown, but rumors that the next Modern Warfare is set in Korea appear to be correct.

However, it’s worth noting that the sequel will allegedly feature North and South Korea, with Task Force 141, the SAS and the Republic of Korea apparently figuring as the main factions. How does this all tie in to the conclusion of Modern Warfare 3? We’ll probably find out at the Xbox Showcase, but it wouldn’t be surprising if a teaser and the official name drop beforehand.

Then again, XBOX could make it a surprise announcement to close its event, like last year with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. But given that this year is followed by the Gears of War: E-Day Direct, it’s looking highly unlikely.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 allegedly launches in October. It seems to be skipping previous-gen consoles (or PS4, at the very least) with Infinity Ward recently touting the beginning of a “new chapter” at the studio.
