After numerous leaks and reports, Activision finally confirmed the existence of Call of Duty: Vanguard. It will be revealed tomorrow at 10:30 AM PT within Call of Duty: Warzone. Before that, insider Tom Henderson continues to provide details on the title with his latest tweets focusing on how good it looks.

Henderson claims to have viewed a campaign mission – which seeming takes place in the nighttime during the D-Day landings – on PS5 and said, “It’s probably one of the best-looking games on current-gen consoles. It’s a bold statement to make, but it looks beautiful.” He noted how crisp the visuals looked with no “grey wash.” “It looks like they’ve used the PS5 to its full potential. A lot of playing with shadows and lighting – fire, gunshots, and that sort of thing.”

Unfortunately, it seems things may not look so good for previous-gen players when it comes to Call of Duty: Warzone. Leaker TheGhostofHope on Twitter noted that the upcoming battle royale map would be a “third bigger/double the size” of Verdansk and have a potentially higher player count. Though the visuals for Warzone are already downgraded, they noted that, “With what is coming in November they gotta pull off some sort of miracle with optimization and stuff.”

That’s not taking into account the overall size of the game. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on PC required 175 GB of installation space at launch and that’s not taking into account the massive post-launch updates. Time will tell how Sledgehammer Games optimizes its title.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is in development for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PC and PS5. It’s rumored to launch on November 5th with an alpha on August 27th to 29th.
