Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC, Stadia
Catch up on the eventful story of Resident Evil 7 before the release of its upcoming sequel.
Resident Evil Village will see Ethan Winters taking the spotlight as protagonist once again, right after he made his debut in 2017’s Resident Evil 7. That’s notable for a few reasons- a) a character has only been a protagonist in consecutive Resident Evil games once, and that was Chris Redfield in 5 and 6; b) this is the first time that a Resident Evil protagonist is appearing in the very next game right after making their debut; and c) no one really liked Ethan all that much, so it’s surprising that he’s stuck around.
Either way, Capcom is promising major improvements to his character, and as we wait to see how his story unfolds in this next game, before Village’s imminent launch, Capcom has released a trailer that recaps the events of Resident Evil 7. It doesn’t go into too much detail, of course (it’s only a couple of minutes long, after all), but it captures most of the main points you’ll need to know heading into Village. Take a look below.
Resident Evil Village launches for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on May 7, with a demo launching on May 1. There’s still time to play (or replay) 7 before that, if you really want to catch up on its story. Alternatively, you can just check out our comprehensive story recap of the game through here.
