Capcom Reports Increase in Net Sales, Monster Hunter X Surpasses Targets

Japanese publisher reveals financial results.

Capcom revealed its financial results following Q3 of fiscal year 2015 and things look pretty good so far.

Along with an increase in net sales and operating income over the same period last year, the company also reported favourable performance from many of its core franchises. Monster Hunter X leads the pack with more than three million units sold over the previously forecast 2.5 million units. Dragon’s Dogma Online, available in Japan for PS3/PS4/PC, has also reported strong performance and downloads for Monster Hunter Explore on mobiles surpassed three million.

In terms of overall franchise sales, Capcom also offered some updates. Dragon’s Dogma has sold more than 2.4 million copies in its lifetime, Monster Hunter has sold 36 million, Resident Evil is at 66 million and Street Fighter is at 37 million. We’ll see how the company performs with Monster Hunter X yet to release outside Japan and Street Fighter 5 due out in February so stay tuned for more information.
