Cyberpunk 2077’s botched launch last December was met with widespread criticism and backlash, and will rightly go down as a defining moment in the history of CD Projekt for all the wrong reasons- especially since it also brought with it legal consequences. The Polish company was hit with class action lawsuits by investors who claimed that the company had intentionally misled them as to the state of the game, but earlier this month, it was confirmed that CD Projekt had entered into settlement talks for the same.

As VGC reports, those talks have now concluded. CD Projekt will pay out a sum of $1.85 million (which is essentially a drop in the bucket for the company) to the group of investors that sued them, who, according to a statement released by CD Projekt, will “relinquish any and all claims against the Company and members of its Management Board.” Cyberpunk 2077 had sold over 13.7 million units worldwide within a month of its launch, which should give you an idea of how much money the game has already made in spite of the bevy of issues it was and continues to be plagued by.

CD Projekt RED is entering another busy period soon. In addition to continuing to update Cyberpunk 2077the studio is also working on the game’s first expansion, while PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions for it and The Witcher 3 are also due out in 2022. Development on new AAA projects is also scheduled to begin next year.
