Control Resonant

Remedy Entertainment has been avidly teasing Control Resonant since its reveal at last month’s The Game Awards, but its launch appears to be sooner than expected. In a report to investors closing out 2025 (translated by Inderes analyst Anne Riikola), the company revealed that the sequel will launch at the end of Q2 2026.

“The release of Control Resonant as early as 2026 came as a positive surprise compared to our expectations, and we have updated our assumption for the game’s release to the end of Q2’26 (was H1’27).” Remedy called it a “critical release” for its investment case, but is “confident in its success.” “We believe that the upcoming game release will support Remedy’s shares over the next year, and we find the valuation otherwise still moderate relative to the company’s long-term potential.”

Projected net revenues from the title over its first three years “remain essentially unchanged,” as Remedy estimates approximately 1.8 million sales in 2026 and 2.2 million in 2027. It seems like a conservative estimate, but the odds for “strong game sales” are favorable. After all, the first game sold more than five million copies over its lifetime and surprisingly garnered more than 20 million players overall (likely thanks to Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, free giveaways on the Epic Games Store, and so on).

Interestingly, Remedy also offered an update on Max Payne 1 and 2 Remake, expecting to receive royalties in 2027 instead of Q4 2026. It’s not ruling out a release in 2026, though, so we’ll see how development progresses.

Control Resonant will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC at launch. Starring Dylan Faden, Jesse’s brother, who ventures out into an open-ended Manhattan overtaken by a paranatural crisis, it promises to be Remedy’s “biggest and most ambitious game” yet.
