Control Will Not Feature HDR At Launch

The feature may come later, but it won't be there day 1.

Control is looking to be a lot of things. One of the strangest things Remedy Entertainment has made, for one, while at the same time being a game that encompasses many of the themes and ideas they’ve used in previous titles. One thing it won’t be, unfortunately, is HDR compatible.

On the Twitter for publisher 505 Games’ Brand CM Lucas Liaskos, he answered a question about HDR support and confirmed that it won’t be there at launch. He said that it could come down the road later, and that he was forwarding all requests to both the publisher and developer, but it’s looking like it’s fair to say we won’t see it on Day 1.

While it is a bit of a shame, Control still looks quite good even without HDR-enabled and hopefully it’s something that be implemented later as Liaskos says. Control launches on August 27th and you can check out the wild launch trailer in the meantime.
