In 2013 most people knew that Sony was cooking something and they couldn’t wait for the news to break. And then finally Sony announced that an event known as PlayStation Meeting 2013 would be held in New York City on Feb 20, 2013 to unveil the future of the PlayStation. Sony officially announced PlayStation 4 at the event. They revealed details about the console’s hardware and featured real time in-game footage of several games.
