Crimson Desert

The launch trailer for Crimson Desert is finally here ahead of the much-anticipated launch of Pearl Abyss’s open-world action-adventure title next week. We’ve joked about how everything showcased has just been the teaser and that Pywel still has secrets to keep. Little did we know how true that could be.

Some of the highlights include a jetpack that allows Kliff to fly around at a much faster rate than the Crow’s Wings would allow; a train that he can grapple onto while it’s passing overhead; and various challenges within the Abyss. One appears to involve gliding through rings while another is about manipulating various laser totems.

Of course, there are combat teases aplenty, including some never-before-seen bosses (who tower over Kliff) and new weapons. The latter includes a two-handed Japanese war fan that generates strong enough gales to blow enemies away. You can also wield a frost claymore as Damiane and a two-handed flaming sword as Kliff. That’s not even getting into all the sequences with the dragon mount, including one sequence where it assails two massive structures with its fiery breath.

And once again, it seems like this is all just the tip of the iceberg. With Crimson Desert launching on March 19th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, we’ll finally get to see just how massive in scope it truly is (especially since Pearl Abyss considers the campaign only a “small percentage” of the experience).
