Cris Tales

Cris Tales from SYCK and Dreams Incorporated may have been delayed to next year but it’s shaping up to be a gorgeous role-playing game. In a new 15 minute extended gameplay overview, the developers talk about the various mechanics in the game. Check it out below.

Essentially, protagonist Crisbell has the ability to see the past, present and future at any given time. This can be used to change events in the past or future, influencing circumstances as she sees fit (though these decisions are never easy). In combat, this results in different benefits like, say, pouring water on an enemy’s shield and then forwarding time to make it rust and thus break with attacks.

The gameplay overview also showcases the Synchro system wherein various team members can combine their skills in combat. It’s a good way to get some additional damage and buffs in. Cris Tales is currently in development for Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Stadia and Xbox Series X/S and will release in early 2021.
