CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC at launch (and apparently Google Stadia, though this hasn’t been outright confirmed). However, Nvidia recently revealed that the RPG will be playable on GeForce Now as well. It will be playable right out of the box on launch day.
However, this isn’t like Google Stadia. Players need to own the game on Steam – as with everything else playable on GeForce Now – in order to stream and play it over the cloud. It’s not without benefits though – Founders members will have the chance to play the game with RTX enabled, experiencing all of the visual fidelity even if their PC isn’t up to the task.
Cyberpunk 2077 releases on September 17th following a delay from its original April release. CD Projekt RED recently teased and announced a collaboration with Nvidia for an GeForce RTX 2080 Ti with a Cyberpunk 2077 theme. So GeForce Now is just another step in the two companies working together.
