CD Projekt RED recently announced a Cyberpunk 2077 stream for February 15, and ahead of its broadcast later today, it seems there are obvious hints out there for what announcement is going to be made (which many had already predicted).
Cyberpunk 2077 launched in December 2020 for last-gen consoles, PC, and Stadia, and though it’s been playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S via backward compatibility, native current-gen versions have been in the works for a while and are officially due out in Q1 of 2022. Interestingly, as spotted by The Verge’s Tom Warren on Twitter, the Xbox Store page of Cyberpunk 2077 is now showing the game as being optimized for Xbox Series X/S, adding further weight to the very likely theory that the game’s native current-gen versions will be revealed (and possibly even shadow dropped) during the stream. Recent leaks have also suggested that a February/March release is on the card.
Whether or not that’ll be the only announcement remains to be seen. CD Projekt RED is also currently working on post-launch content for the game, but it remains to be seen whether the developer’s ready to say anything about the game’s expansions just yet. Either way, we’ll keep you updated, so stay tuned.
