The Darwin Project

After a short stint in Steam Early Access, Scavengers Studio’s Darwin Project is now free to play on PC. Not only that but the developer will be adding more than 200 cosmetics on April 24th (which are unlocked by leveling up and acquiring fans, who will provide fan gifts).

Darwin Project is a Battle Royale-esque title but the twist is that the arena is managed by another player called the Show Director. The Show Director can change the gravity, provide helpful items to other players, nuke certain portions of the map and even reveal the location of a player to others. This gives the game a real Hunger Games-like vibe which the crafting and survival mechanics help reinforce.

The developer has been busy adding a bunch of new features to the game including Duo mode, Private Matches, adjustments to the Show Director, visual improvements, limited time events and much more. The progression system will also be seeing a major overhaul – head here to learn more.
