Days Gone, Detroit: Become Human, Spider-Man, God of War Releasing in First Half of 2018

Sony America's Shawn Layden talks release dates.

If you were annoyed at the lack of release date announcements at Sony’s E3 2017 presser, then don’t worry – it won’t be too long before the biggest exclusives are in your hands.

Even though Days Gone doesn’t have a release date while God of War, Spider-Man and Detroit: Become Human are billed for 2018, Sony Interactive Entertainment America president Shawn Layden confirmed to The Telegraph that they will all arrive in the first half of next year.

On the lack of exclusives for this year, Layden said, “To be honest, we’re already halfway through 2017. And that’s the nature of game development. No, I feel the lineup we have coming into the holidays this year – and Gran Turismo will launch in the fall – I don’t know if you got to go to the pre-show [hands on event for media]? Well GT was heavily represented there on the floor. We think there is a lot of attention around that title from our company.”

“And the stuff coming in 2018, all of that is coming in the first half of the year, so. Is it in the next 12 to 13 months? Most likely. So…”

PlayStation Experience would probably be the best time to date many of these exclusives. It takes place on December 9th to 10th in Anaheim, California.
