DayZ

The biggest focus at Sony’s Gamescom presentation earlier today was on indie games, but we still did get a couple of legitimate big announcements. One of these was when DayZ was announced to be coming to the PlayStation 4, with Dean Hall, creator of the original mod, stepping up on stage himself to announce the game.

This is a pretty big deal, guys- it’s almost as big as when Microsoft snagged Minecraft for the Xbox 360. DayZ is a pretty big and popular game, and having it available for the PlayStation 4 can only help Sony. Of note is the fact that DayZ was listed as a ‘timed console exclusive’ by Sony, but assuming said exclusivity can last for as long as Minecraft’s did for Xbox 360- say, a year or so aftr release- then Sony will be in a very comfortable place.

Will you be getting DayZ on the PS4? Let us know in the comments.
