DayZ standalone game to be developed by Bohemia

Posted By | On 07th, Aug. 2012

It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for, Dean Hall today confirmed on the DayZ Tumblr that the Arma II zombie mod is going standalone.

With Hall as project lead, the mod will be developed into a standalone game by Bohemia Interactive, creators of ArmA II.

Developments and updates of the mod will still happen in conjunction with the full game, following what Hall calls the “Minecraft development model”, quick iterations and community Alpha available at a huge discount.

The game will gain its own website, www.dayzgame.com, with the mod still running from the existing site. Question is, will Day Z be coming to consoles?

Bohemia Interactive are showcasing DayZ at this years gamescom.
