Capcom Vancouver’s Dead Rising 3 is looking good and aims to take the franchise into an open world teeming with zombies. But how good does it really look compared to, say, Uncharted? While that may seem like a weird comparison, senior producer Jason Leigh talked about cramming visual fidelity similar to a linear experience like Naughty Dog’s third person adventure.

Speaking OXM, Leigh stated that, “We kind of cram in the fidelity that you’d expect from a linear experience like Uncharted, and we try and do it everywhere so regardless of the angle you’re taking through the world, it feels like you’re playing that kind of game. [Our design team] has essentially hand-crafted spaces. You’re not going to come across a cookie-cutter sort of world.”

While looking better than a previous generation game makes sense, how will it compare to open world next gen titles? We’ll find out when Dead Rising 3 releases on November 22nd worldwide.
