Death Stranding: Is Kumail Nanjiani Involved?

Could the famous comedian be playing some role in the upcoming game?

Death Stranding

Death Stranding has been pulling in talent from Hollywood almost obsessively. Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Guillermo del Toro, Lea Seydoux, and Lindsay Wagner are all playing roles in the game, while outside of Hollywood, Troy Baker too has been confirmed to be part of the game’s cast. If new speculation is to be believed, famous comedian Kumail Nanjiana might be playing a role – at least a cameo – in the game as well.

Nanjiani recently posted an image of himself in full motion and facial capture getup on his Instagram page, and interestingly enough, the post was liked by none other than Hideo Kojima. It’s also worth mentioning that Nanjiani has been vocal about his appreciation of Kojima and his works in the past. Of course, it’s a bit of a vague line to connect – Nanjiani’s upload didn’t mention what project he was doing motion capture work for, after all – but the fact that Kojima liked the post definitely gives this speculation some weight.

Kojima has also said quite recently that even after the reveal of Seydoux and Wagner at this year’s E3, there’s still more actors in the game that are yet to be revealed. It’s entirely possible that Nanjiani could be one of them. Either way, we’ll find out for sure sooner or later, so stay tuned to GamingBolt, and we’ll keep you updated. Recently, Kojima said that he isn’t using Hollywood actors in his game to legitimize his game, but to rather fulfil creative energies. Read more on that here.
