Death Stranding received a meaty, incredible new trailer yesterday, giving us a release date for the game, new information about the story to scrutinize and analyze, and new gameplay footage. As always, there was a Japanese version of the trailer as well, but what’s interesting is that that version is longer than the English one by about 30 seconds, owing to the fact that it contains extra, exclusive gameplay footage not seen in the English trailer.

The footage in question can be seen at the 6 minutes, 5 seconds mark in the video below, and it’s certainly interesting. It shows a curious encounter against a terrifying monstrosity, which might be a boss or a mini boss encounter (then again, it might not). There’s also a glimpse of Sam, the protagonist, using a handgun against the… whatever that is. Take a look below.

Death Stranding is out on November 8 for the PS4. Hideo Kojima sent out a message to fans yesterday in which he explained the basic narrative premise of the game. Meanwhile, other new gameplay details regarding combat, exploration, online elements, and more have also emerged.
