Death Stranding’s got a star-studded cast playing what are already looking like very enigmatic characters. But the most enigmatic and mysterious of the all has to be Cliff, played by Mads Mikkelsen. It’s became well-known by now that Hideo Kojima wrote the character with Mikkelsen in mind (even though he initially considered Keanu Reeves for the role as well), and it seems the actor himself is more than just a little impressed with the game he’s starring in.
Speaking in an interview with TASS, Mikkelsen said that Death Stranding is going to be a long game, and of the entire runtime, he’s experienced about two hours of it for himself so far. And based on that, he described the game as not just visually mind-blowing, but also equally impressive in terms of how it plays, which he called “out of the box”, before calling Kojima “the Godfather of creating new things.”
“It’s going to be many hours,” he said. “I’ve spent two hours with it, and it blew me away. It was insane to watch where this is taking us. Not only was it mindblowing visually, but also the way it was played. It’s kind of out of the box, something we’ve never ever seen before. And I guess that’s what people expect from Hideo Kojima. He is the Godfather of creating new things.”
Death Stranding recently wrapped up development, and will be out exclusively for the PS4 on November 8. Check out its recent CGI trailer through here.
