Death Stranding Gets CGI Trailer Called “The Drop”

The trailer lays out your mission... kind of.

From the moment it was revealed, Death Stranding has had Hollywood talent at the forefront. With The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus taking on the starring role, he’s been front and center of the marketing. While we wait for the launch trailer that Kojima is editing himself, it seems they’ve decided to put Reedus’ face to work in a CGI trailer called The Drop.

Like a lot of things surrounding Death Stranding, the trailer is kind of vague and makes little sense without knowing more about the whole picture. It features Sam Bridges running away from baddies, with his voiceover talking about how it’s his job to reconnect the world, or something. I’m not sure if you’ll get much out of this trailer if you’re not already pretty familiar with the game, but it’s a neat little piece before the official launch trailer arrives.

Death Stranding releases exclusively on PlayStation 4 November 8th. If you’re looking for some tunes to get you in the mood, there’s an album being released inspired by the game that you can check out details on through here.
