Destiny 2 Beta: Power Ammo Numbers Still Being Tuned

Director Luke Smith confirms "improved uptime" for Power weapons at launch.

Bungie’s beta for Destiny 2 is live for those who pre-ordered on PlayStation 4 with the Xbox One version available later today. While there have been many positive impressions, many fans have found the amount of ammo for Power Weapons to be underwhelming.

Power Weapons are basically your third slot’s weapon and includes Grenade Launchers, Shotguns, Fusion Rifles and Sniper Rifles. Ammo for many of these archetypes was quite plentiful in Destiny but they feel sparse in the sequel’s beta. Considering how this could make killing bosses all the more tedious in PvE, it’s a big concern indeed.

Director Luke Smith responded to this however, and noted on Twitter that, “We’re still tuning those numbers and the uptime Power Weapons in PVE has been improved for ship.” As for the slow charge rate of Supers…well, hopefully that gets tuned in time for launch as well. Destiny 2 is out on September 6th for Xbox One and PS4. The PC version goes live on October 24th.
