With Destiny 2’s next expansion Lightfall releasing today, details are beginning to trickle out about what to expect. Furthermore, some new details are available regarding the raid, The Root of Nightmares. It goes live on March 10th at 9 AM PST and, as previously confirmed, sees Guardians battling an “ancient threat.”
Even more interesting is that Contest Mode is enabled for 48 hours instead of the usual 24. The modifier caps the player’s Power while active while ensuring no bonus from the Seasonal Artifact. It’s available during World’s First races for raids, but it should be interesting to see how the additional time plays a factor.
Destiny 2: Lightfall releases today for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Servers are currently down for maintenance, but update 7.0.0.1 is available to pre-load for all platforms. Stay tuned for more updates, and in the meantime, check out the release day trailer for what to expect.
Ferried from an unknown time and place, a haunting presence has been detected. We must now confront the ancient threat growing at our doorstep.
