Destiny 2 - The Root of Nightmares

Destiny 2’s latest expansion, Lightfall, hasn’t received the best response from the community. Bungie promising the story would play out over subsequent seasons didn’t muster much enthusiasm either. Nevertheless, the next raid is coming up on March 10th with Root of Nightmares, and a new trailer has revealed its location.

As it turns out, you don’t venture into [REDACTED] at the end of Lightfall, but into a Pyramid Ship. It just so happens to be the same ship that the Traveler fired at in the opening cinematic to defeat The Witness. The trailer sees players venturing into the hole, where the Light has mixed with the Pyramid Ship’s architecture strangely.

What threat awaits inside remains to be seen, but there will be a World First Race when the raid goes live at 8:30 AM PT on Friday. The Contest modifier will be active for 48 hours, placing all fireteams at a Power level disadvantage. Whoever completes the raid first receives special championship belts courtesy of Bungie. Stay tuned for more details when it goes live later this week.
