Bungie kicked off its Destiny 2 showcase with a reveal of The Witch Queen. The cinematic trailer sees the Guardians traveling to Savathun’s Throne World to hunt her own. Unfortunately, after stealing the Light, the Hive God has found a way to use it against players by creating Hive Guardians. Check it out below.

The first gameplay for the expansion was also revealed, and sees the Hive Guardians using abilities like Sentinel Shield and Blade Barrage (while having Hive Ghosts that need to be destroyed as well). Savathun’s Throne World is also an interesting location with a massive palace and dark swamp to explore. There’s even a decrepit Pyramid of Darkness out in the distance.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen has been confirmed to launch on February 22nd 2022. It will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. More details on the expansion will be revealed shortly so stay tuned.
