Exotic vendor Xur has returned to Bungie’s Destiny 2, possessing many of the same items you’d obtain playing the campaign. We’d like to talk about Bungie’s complete ineptitude for designing Exotics, doling them out like useless candy and then tuning them roughly eight months after the game launched.
Instead, we’ll just say that Xur is on Nessus till the weekly reset. He’s carrying Gemini Jester (Hunter boots), Doom Fang Pauldron (Titan gloves) and Wings of Sacred Dawn (Warlock chest), each for 23 Legendary Shards. Gemini Jester is decent for disorienting nearby enemies while dodging while Doom Fang Pauldron sees Shield Base melee kills recharge Shield Throw. Killing enemies with melee abilities will also recharge the Sentinel’s Super.
Wings of Sacred Dawn is a waste of an Exotic slot. The Exotic weapon this week is Riskrunner, an Arc submachine gun that can chain lightning, refill ammo on kills and deal more damage if you’re hit by Arc damage. It can be yours for 29 Legendary Shards.
