Destiny 2’s The Dawning Returns – Baking, Mayhem, and Heavy Machine Guns on The Menu

The festive season is in full swing with new items, new Bounties, and new cosmetics to earn from Eververse.

‘Tis the season for events, whether it’s Overwatch or Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Bungie’s Destiny 2 isn’t far behind, with The Dawning having gone live last night. While Mayhem Crucible has returned, this year’s event is more about baking with Eva Levante. It’s definitely not the weirdest thing in this game till now.

Making her long-awaited return, Eva will assist players in baking treats for various NPCs (who will then provide rewards in return). Rewards from the new Bounties include Legendary Gear, mods, a new heavy machine gun called the Avalanche, and Enhancement Cores. Of course, the Eververse Store has also been updated with new content as well.

Along with emotes, players can earn new Dawning-specific armour pieces. Fortunately, unlike last year, Dawning items can be earned through Engrams when leveling up, and they’re kept separate from other Bright Engrams. There’s even a knock-out mechanic to ensure that duplicate Dawning items aren’t received. All in all, it’s a massive improvement over last year’s debacle. The Dawning is available until January 1st, 2019.
