Destiny’s Taken King is just around the corner and it appears the new DLC is going to be bringing a new way to get out of a game mode if you are getting your butt whupped. Bungie officially announced that it will be bringing a new “Mercy Rule” to the crucible starting on September 8. This new feature will allow for Bungie to see when a match is going in a very one-sided way, and according to the posting on the official site it will end the matches that are seeing someone get overwhelmed to the point where the game has stopped being fun.

The crucible maps and modes are arriving a week ahead of Destiny’s official launch of the Taken King, perhaps in order to get this new mercy rule in place as soon as possible. While this new feature will allow people who are getting beaten quite badly a way out without having to play all the way to the end, or losing reputation by quitting it will also keep people from joining these one-sided matches. Bungie has warned that the feature might lead to some games triggering  even though a comeback might have been in the offing. At this point, players will just have to take the good with the bad.

One other little factoid became known about the marketing of Destiny’s Taken King is that Bungie is apparently planning a live action commercial for the new content and Destiny 2.0. One sharp-eyed Redditor noticed that there was a mention of the live action advertisement on a banner in the Xbox One dashboard. Obviously we don’t know what the ad is going to entail but we should know more as we get closer to the official launch of the Taken King.
