Lore Not Included in Game

This is one of the more damning aspects of Bungie’s story development process. Lore is an essential part of just about game with a complex story, whether it’s Metro: Last Light or Dragon Age: Inquisition. And surprise, surprise but a lot of the lore in Destiny is superb. The recent Book of Sorrows, which you compile together by collecting Calcified Fragments in The Taken King details the tragic rise of Oryx. Ever wondered why we have to go into those strange dimensions to kill Crota and then Oryx after killing them in the real world? The Book of Sorrows holds the answer.

So why oh why isn’t it included in the game itself? Why do users still have to go outside of the game onto Bungie.net or access the Destiny app on their smartphone to read them? Why not include them within the game itself? With all the renovations to the interface and Quest screens, is it so impossible to dedicate a screen to lore? Or even to provide a kiosk which could feature detailed voicework and animation for the lore? Why make some of your best writing so annoyingly hard to reach on short notice?
