Along with the required Crucible updates, the next update for Bungie’s Destiny will add an interesting new feature called “Connection Recovery”. As revealed on the Bungie Weekly Update, this will help players to reconnect to matches if they find themselves on the wrong side of server problems. This feature will be introduced first for the Trials of Osiris PvP event in House of Wolves and then gradually to all other aspects of the game, though there’s no set timeline for the same.

Matchmaking engineer Damian Frank also added that, “It won’t always work, because the underlying networking problem may be too severe, but it gives you a fighting chance at rejoining the server you were playing on. If it’s successful, you’ll keep your progress and your Fireteam.”

But if you successfully reconnect to a game, you’ll respawn back into a match and continue as normal.

This will be an important feature for Trials of Osiris, which Bungie is hyping up for its highly competitive nature. Stay tuned for the patch and House of Wolves, out on May 19th, to see how well it works.
