Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition

For a good while there, it seemed as if the Devil May Cry series was no longer with us. After an attempted western-focused reboot, DmC: Devil May Cry, didn’t quite do what publisher Capcom had hoped, the general thought was that the series had slayed its last demon. Thankfully, last year it came roaring back with Devil May Cry 5, a game that returned to the original, pre-reboot canon. It was a major success, and now it’s time for the Special Edition release with a certain classic character as its star.

A new music trailer was release that featured the Japanese musician HYDE. One of the biggest new features of Special Edition is the ability to play as series mainstay Vergil (who will also be available to purchase for those who own the vanilla version of the game). He’s basically the star here as the trailer focuses heavily on both his gameplay as well as him in some cutscenes. Check it out below.

Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition will release at console launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, with a physical release set for December 1st. You can read more about the game’s various graphical options through here.
