Publisher Devolver Digital has confirmed a “new game announcement” for this week. Ironically, the announcement is coming after Gamescom 2022 has wrapped.
This new game announcement could be from The Beans Team, a Toronto-based studio. It revealed in July 2020 that it had been working on an “unannounced new intellectual property” with Devolver. A job listing for Game Programmer indicates that it’s a first-person action-adventure title developed on Unreal Engine 4. Not much else is known, save for it having “rich, dynamic characters” and enemies to fight, as per an AI Programmer job listing.
The publisher has had a fairly busy year thus far, releasing Shadow Warrior 3, Trek to Yomi, Weird West, Serious Sam: Tormental and Cult of the Lamb (which has one million copies in a week). It also has Return to Monkey Island releasing on September 19th for PC and Nintendo Switch, and Wizard With a Gun still slated for this year.
