Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls

Do you like your pets in Diablo 3? Do you hate that they’re murdered every time, taking an enemy’s attacks? Despite the lack of any real fixes to pets in the latest content patch for Reaper of Souls, Blizzard Entertainment game designer John Yang talks on the forums about changes planned for pets in the future.

“Pets should scale with your survivability stats. They currently scale with most of your stats but not all of them. This is being worked on. Pets should derive their Toughness from yours, and if you skip out on it, your pets’ survivability should be noticeably lower as a result. On the flip side, they should be noticeably tougher if you’ve increased your own Toughness. You shouldn’t skimp on Toughness just because you have pets.”

Currently, Blizzard is looking to divide damage taken by pets into three categories – Full damage to pets, reduced damage to pets and drastically reduced damage to pets. These aren’t final though but stay tuned for any changes in the coming months.
