DiRT 5

When it comes to racing games, you think about a lot of things. You think about how the game will handle, is it off road, what brands are featured, what types of cars are the main focus and so on and so on. I have to imagine for most people, the voice talent is generally pretty low. But DiRT 5 will undoubtedly change that, even if only a tad, by having some very recognizable voices.

As announced by Director Robert Karp, the game’s campaign will feature the voice styling of both Troy Baker and Nolan North, two legendary voice actors. If you’re not familiar with them, you’ve almost certainly heard their voice. North voices Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series, and Baker voices Joel in The Last of Us. But if you’ve played mainstream games in the last 10-15 years, you’ve heard them in dozens of roles.

For DiRT 5, they will be part of the campaign mode which is described as a narrative driven affair. Baker and North will play dueling mentors who give the player advice on things like sponsorships and strategies that will alter the story. It’s not clear how much they will actually be in the game and how all of this is fleshed out, but you can get a taste of the duo below.

DiRT 5 is set to launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC and Stadia starting this October. You can also check out some of the next gen features through here.
