Doom 3 BFG Edition Now Available in North America: Run, Hide, It Doesn’t Matter

Bethesda has officially announced that id Software’s Doom 3 BFG Edition is now available in North America for the wonderful price of $39.99 USD for PS3 and XBox 360, and $29.99 USD for the PC. The BFG Edition is a reworked, remastered packaging of Doom 3 and the expansion pack (which added flashlights to the guns) Resurrection of Evil. A ton of new content has also been included, like the eight levels of “The Lost Mission”.

Not only have the graphics been enhanced, but Doom 3 BFG Edition also supports 3D and 5.1 Surround Sound. Achievement/trophy hounds can add to their stock, while the rest of us can just be happy about not repeating entire sections thanks to the revamped checkpoint system. And as if that weren’t awesome enough, now you don’t just have to rely on the flashlight strapped to the measly pistol. A new armour-mounted flashlight lets you carry pretty much any weapon and still see where to aim.

Finally, if that weren’t enough, id Software has included classic Doom and Doom 2 for the complete franchise experience. Check out the launch trailer below.
