DOOM

Early copies of id Software’s DOOM are already out in the open but servers for the game aren’t up yet.

It’s also worth noting that the Day One patch for the game isn’t too hefty but it’s still pretty big – roughly 5.739 GB on PlayStation 4. Patch notes haven’t been released yet. We suppose such large updates are to be expected in this day and age.

PC players will have a tougher time with their download even if they pick up a physical version of the game. In addition to the Day One update, those with discs will need to download some 45 GB from Steam after authentication, similar to how Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain works on PC.

Overall, it should be interesting to see the impact DOOM has, especially considering the mixed reception the multiplayer beta received. Are you picking it up? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information.
