DOOM

Id Software’s DOOM has received its latest free update for multiplayer which adds a new mode and Private Matches.

The new mode is Deathmatch but it’s actually Free for All. Players can enter solo and fight other players without having to arrange themselves into teams. Demon Runes are disabled but otherwise anything else goes.

As for Private Matches, it allows for fixing matches to have whatever modes, maps and whatnot that you’d like. A double XP weekend has gone live to celebrate the release of the update and it will start at 12 PM ET today. This ends on September 26th though so get in on the carnage while you can.

Fixes and optimizations have also been implemented for the single-player campaign while SnapMap has received improvements and other fixes. What are your thoughts on Deathmatch and the thought of Private Matches? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more.
